Built from the ground up in Gaborone
The Villescence Publishing Studios is an independent publishing house founded and led by its Creative Director. With more than 42 titles published and full in-house production — editing, design, typesetting and binding — we are one of the few studios in the region where a book can go from raw manuscript to bound copy without leaving the building.
The kgotla ethos
In the kgotla, counsel is spoken openly and every voice is heard. We publish the same way: honest editorial counsel, transparent costs, and authors who understand every decision made about their book.
The infrastructure mission
Beyond individual books, we're building the missing infrastructure for African authors — from royalty payment rails to author training — so the next generation publishes on fair terms.
